Psalm 34 Day: A Day of Community, Generosity, and Vision

What a day!

This past Sunday, somewhere between 250 and 300 people joined us at ABLE Farms for Psalm 34 Day. Friends, families, volunteers, and supporters came together to tour the farm and campus, enjoy lemonade and fresh-baked treats, build beautiful bouquets of wildflowers, and spend time in conversation and fellowship.

It was exciting to watch so many people see the progress that has already been made at ABLE Farms. Even more meaningful, though, was watching people begin to catch the vision for what this place can become and the lives it can impact for years to come.

Nearly $10,000 Raised in Two Hours

In just two hours on a very hot Sunday afternoon—and in a building without air conditioning—your generosity raised approximately $10,000 for ABLE Farms.

We are incredibly grateful.

Every dollar given helps move us closer to completing the campus and building a sustainable future for the ministry and mission of ABLE Farms.

Thank you to everyone who donated, visited, encouraged us, asked questions, and shared in the excitement of what is taking place here.

A Community Effort

Psalm 34 Day would not have been possible without an incredible group of volunteers.

People gave their time to clean, mow, set up, bake, cut flowers, prepare the campus, welcome visitors, and handle countless other jobs before, during, and after the event.

We are continually reminded that ABLE Farms is being built through the generosity of a community that believes in this vision.

To every volunteer and every person who came through our doors Sunday: thank you.

Your kindness, encouragement, generosity, and passion for making this dream a reality mean more than we can adequately express.

Where ABLE Farms Stands Today

Throughout the afternoon, we had many wonderful conversations about where ABLE Farms is today and where we hope to go next.

A few questions came up frequently, so we wanted to share those answers with everyone.

ABLE Farms currently has no debt, and we are committed to remaining debt-free. Everything completed on the campus so far has been made possible through financial donations and gifts-in-kind. We will continue moving forward as funds become available.

Our two greatest financial needs right now are campus completion and operational expenses. Completing the physical campus will allow us to fully utilize the property for its intended mission, while operational support will help sustain the organization as programming and activity continue to grow.

At this time, all work at ABLE Farms is being completed by volunteers. We do anticipate hiring staff in the future as the organization develops and our needs increase.

We are also working toward establishing an endowment for ABLE Farms. Our long-term goal is for an endowment to help cover overhead expenses and payroll separately from annual fundraising. For those considering charitable giving as part of their estate planning, we would be honored for you to consider ABLE Farms.

What's Next?

The momentum from Psalm 34 Day is only the beginning.

We are already looking ahead to our fall fundraiser, and we look forward to sharing more details soon.

And after hosting several hundred people in August without air conditioning, we think everyone can agree on at least one future campus improvement!

More importantly, Sunday reminded us why ABLE Farms exists and just how much can happen when a community comes together around a shared vision.

There is still much work ahead, but we are grateful for every person who is helping make it possible.
